I love that even though this woman wanted to be married, she listened to what God was telling her and she called off her wedding the day of the wedding. I think it would take a lot of faith to be able to do that. In the end, God blessed her and she was able to get the temple marriage she had always wanted.
I think that there are many times in our lives when our desperate want for something clouds our judgement and our ability to feel the Spirit. It takes a lot of work to really, truly put our own feelings aside and listen to what God wants us to do. Sometimes it's the same thing we wanted, other times it's not. But we can be sure that God only wants the best for us and will always lead us in the right direction.
What a beautiful story! I didn't think they would end up together in the end. But the Lord knew that James needed that push to get himself worthy to enter the temple. We always need to keep in mind that He knows our needs much better than we do. For that reason, we must follow Him and do His will.
